I am an Instructional Designer and e-Learning Developer who loves to see things from a different perspective. I develop interactive learning experiences that engage a learner with scenario-based adventures comparable to real-world interactions. My creativity flows when I create learning after collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other stakeholders. Finally, I gather essential ideas that can be molded to redirect the course of someone's understanding with precise objectives that align with business goals.

Analysis

I have a Kick Off Meeting or meet with Stakeholders/SMEs

I conduct a needs analysis - survey, questionnaires, interviews, focus groups
I ask clarifying questions.
- - Why is the project happening?
  - What is the business goal or problem that is being addressed?
  - What does success look like or what skills should the learning address?
  - Who is the audience?
  - What prior knowledge does audience need/have?
  - What type of training is desired? - e-Learning module, microlearning, video, or job aid, ILT/VILT

Design

I formulate a Design Document - Basic Elements of the Training
- - Chunk content into smaller portions based on Adult Learning Theories.
  - Explain what interactions/engagement will present information to the learner.
  - Flow of information and length.
I create a storyboard, if another team will be creating the training module.

Development

I create an approved learning solution, relevant to learners.
Course is reviewed in rigorous Alpha, Beta, and Gold iterations to finalize for approval.

Implementation

Learning solution distributed with all deliverables including SCORM package, if LMS system is being utilized.

Evaluation

Determine if the behavior or performance has changed as a result of the training.
- Kirkpatrick's 4 Levels of Evaluation - Reaction, Learning, Impact, Results
- Ultimately, a desired change in employee behavior to achieve business goal.
